I would also like to draw your attention to the ARA adaptive conference.  Attached is the application form.  Welsh Rowing will make a £40 subsidy to coaches who are currently coaching adaptive athletes and coaches who will definitely be involved with an adaptive programme in the near future.  Please send your application form and payment made to Welsh Rowing to Mrs Sarah Harris 16 Woodfield Avenue, Radyr, Cardiff, CF15 8EF by Thursday 6th September.  Anyone applying after this date will need to apply through the ARA and pay the full cost.

Adaptive Rowing Coaching Conference

On the 13 and 14 October 2007 the Stoke Mandeville Stadium in Buckinghamshire will host the Adaptive Rowing Coaching Conference- 'Breaking down Barriers, Opening Opportunities'.

The weekend will cover a range of topics designed to inform delegates of current practices as well as future possibilities. Presentations will cover a range of information from participation sport to podium representation.  Guest speakers will be present to deliver workshops to engage and challenge current thinking and practices. With the overall aim to empower delegates to leave with the ability to further develop their Adaptive Rowing programmes and plans.

Importantly, the conference will also offer opportunities for discussion, sharing best practice and thinking outside of the box; as well as a chance to visit the inclusive facilities available at the Guttmann centre.

There will be a small delegate fee for the whole weekend of £50 which includes accommodation. Buddy/Carers will not be charged for attending the conference.
